Plate Tectonics

There have been recent findings that there were bones of fish and aquatic life on a mountain. This gives a clue that the mountain has been under water sometime in history. This also hints that the Earth's surface keeps making, slowly but surely. Another finding about Mount Everest growing taller every year suggests that the ground moves the mountain onto higher land.

When the tectonic plates shift into each other, it causes an Earthquake. That is why we experience  earthquakes mostly on the sides of countries. If an earthquake happens in water, it causes a tsunami. If the plates move away each other though, the lava inside the Earth comes up and it forms a volcano. There are three types of volcano cones- Shield cones, Composite cones and Cinder cones.
